about

Borys Janczarski - tenor saxophone
Stephen McCraven - drums
Joanna Gajda - piano
Adam ‘Szabas’ Kowalewski - bass

Janczarski & McCraven Quintet is a synthesis of five musical characters, five instruments, and five variant sensitivities. This is cognizant jazz, not lacking in taste or intuition. It's played by seasoned musicians, who are regular members of the groups of stars on the national, as well as foreign jazz scenes. Worthy of particular attention is the special guest, a member of Chicago's legendary AACM – trumpeter Rasul Siddik, an artist known both in the USA, where he was born, and in Europe, where he's lived for over 30 years. His experience gained in the bands of world legends, combined with a wealth of influences and inspirations, drawn in equal measure from tradition and the avant-garde, render him an uncommonly colorful musical character, whose energy and charisma give wings to his colleagues in the group. The premiere concert will take place on November 26th, 2015 in Warsaw.

"Yes, yes, yes, Travelling East & West is one that will please all ears! it`s swinging and very harmonious. I will give it 5 stars. Good work Steve McCraven!""
Bobby Few, jazz pianist in Paris
