This CD contains extensive portions of a concert by the Pałuki Quartet from April, 2014, which took place under the aegis of the Year of Kolberg celebration in Wągrowiec. Alongside Maria Pomianowska - the knee fiddle master known to all fans of the world music genre – that day, there were appearances by: trash metal vocalist Zbigniew Zaranek, and the accordionist of the Bayan Brothers duet, Łukasz Mirek. The concert's main focus consisted of traditional themes originating in Poland's Pałuki region. Piece 02 on the CD – And on Sunday – is a study on a theme which comes from Oskar Kolberg's original notations, from the period of his stay in the Pałuki region's town of Czeszewo. Piece 03 – I Was In Heaven At Dinner – is also known from a traditional performance by Jan Boruch, violinist and head of the Group From Kcynia. Piece 06, in turn – Took Myself a Young Little Wife – was written down by Gabriel Leśniewski (1925-1987), musical instructor, conductor, and accordionist who led various folk ensembles – mainly within the area of today's Żnin District.
(Grzegorz Tomaszewski)

Pałuki is a unique ethnographic-cultural region. It is also known for a hydrological phenomenon, in which the courses of two rivers, while converging, don't blend! Without getting into a discussion on whether or not this is bifurcation, what's much more relevant here is the allegory to archetypal coexistence of different customs and cultures.
